The Role of Phosphodiesterase 3B (PDE3B) in the Regulation of Human Adipose Tissue Biology and Systemic Glucose and Lipid Homeostasis
The aim of this study is to better understand how PDE3B influences fat, glucose, and lipid metabolism in people
We plan to recruit equal numbers of participants who carry a genetic variant (a change in their DNA) that reduces PDE3B function and participants who have the typical form of the gene, so we can compare the two groups.
Recent findings suggest that individuals with a gene variant that lowers the activity of the PDE3B protein may have some protection against developing diabetes and heart disease.
